Myran I. (Hanna) Pearson

Myran passed away at the St. Joseph's Hospital (Extended Care Home) in Estevan, SK. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the age of 94.

She was born November 24, 1917 at Oxbow, SK. to Eva and Herbert Gorrell. She was the second of three daughters. Myran attended a country school south of Oxbow and later business school in Saskatoon. She married William (Bill) Hanna of Oxbow. They were married in Saskatoon in 1938. They resided on a farm south of Oxbow. The marriage brought them six children. They moved into town in the late 50's .

Myran was active in curling, enjoyed the Senior Centre and spent many early mornings at the swimming pool.

She is survived by her children: Lyle (Bonny) of Assiniboia, Gwen (Chris) James of Whelan Bay, Cameron (Rosemary) of Estevan, Neal (Georgina) of Slave Lake, AB., Janice (Len) Barrows of Fort St. John, BC., and Shirley (Colin) Baldwin of Oxbow; sister Francis (Bill) Abbott of Wyoming, Ontario; special friend Chris Hansen of Oxbow; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, first husband Bill Hanna in 1969, second husband Doug Pearson in 1996, sister Alda Hodgson in 1972, step-father Arthur in 1972.

Myran was a loving mother whose life revolved around her family. She was exceptionally fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Myran's life was held from the St. Paul's United Church, Oxbow on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Mrs. Sandy Dalziel officiating. Interment followed at the Oxbow Cemetery.
