My sincere sympathies to Betty and Jacks families. I only learned today of Betty and Jack's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Mrs Dempsey was my intern teacher in 1979 in Carnduff. She was a warn beautiful person that shared her knowledge of teach with me. I was so glad that i was placed with her. We kept in touch for many years by writing letters but our lives changed and the habit of letter writing fell by the wayside. I am sorry that we lost touch. My sister lives in Carlyle and she had mentioned that Betty was staying there. I had hoped to get down to see her but it never happened during the time that she was there. I thought a lot of her and I will remember her fondly. I am proud to call her my friend. Hope you get this message.

Our sincere sympathy to you folks at the loss of Betty, she was a very loving, caring and gentle person. We will always be grateful to her for all the time that she spent going to see our mother and taking such an interest in her when she was a resident at the Nursing Home in Carnduff.
