Donald Beaton, aged 77, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the West-Man Nursing Home in Virden, MB. following a brief illness.
Donald was predeceased by his father, Norman Beaton, step-father, John Abbey and mother, originally from the Reston area, Jessie Abbey.
To mourn his passing, Donald leaves his uncle, Edward Abbey of Dunnville, ON., his cousin, Linda Sargent of Brandon, and good friends, Barb Scott of Deloraine and Wayne and Jo Ann Thompson of Melita.
Donald was born on January 30, 1941. He and his mother moved to the Hartney Personal Care Home and after her death, Donald decided to move to care in Virden.
Thanks are expressed to the staffs of Hartney PCH and in Virden, Bridge Street Enterprises and the West-Man Nursing Home for the care, compassion and kindness shown to Donald during his time there.
Donald was a joyous individual who enjoyed woodworking, visits with old friends and had a love for animals.
A funeral service for Donald was held at the Melita Presbyterian Church, Melita, MB. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Barb Alston officiating. Interment at the Nesbitt Cemetery will take place at a later date.
