I got my appendix out when I was five and my parents came to visit me in the hospital. I remember crying hard when they left and Mrs Huish sat down on the hospital bed and rubbed my back till I stopped crying. I still remember that kindness shown so many many years ago to me as a small child...she was a great nurse.
