Our sincere condolences to Roberta, Alan, Andy, Aaron and their families, at this difficult time. Eddie was a great person and a professional horseman. As a person he was very positive with a smile, determined hard worker, generous volunteer and supported the horse industry endlessly.
Eddie was President of the Canadian Belgian Horse Association from 1982 to 1989. As a President, Eddie was a great leader and very respected in the draft horse industry both across Canada and the United States, this combined with his willingness to support the association and work so hard was the main reason the first ever North American Belgian Championship in 1988 was started, was a success and due to the hard work and generosity of many ever since has continued.

I so enjoyed reminiscing with Andy last weekend while he was judging at our Calgary Stampede Heavy Horse Show. It brought back so many special memories for me of the years (and there were so many of them) that Eddie and crew would come to town. We always looked forward to his arrival, though it was usually during the night, and when we arrived in the morning he was all set up like he’d been there all week! His horses were always in perfect fit for the show and he was proud and humble all at the same time, when standing at the top of most classes! A true gentleman and good friend to all. I’ve thought of him often over the years and will continue to do so. Our thoughts are with all of you.
