Irene Bernice (Vanrobaeys) Kobs-Holmes

Mrs. Irene Kobs-Holmes of Melita passed away unexpectedly at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 76.

Irene is survived by her nine children: Walter “Wally” (Lorraine), Anna (Owen), Karla (Dwayne), Lisa (Paul), Laura (Wray), Leaha (Dan), Donna (Ken), Eric, James “Jim” (Tracy); thirty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta "Lorri" (Walt); brothers, Bill (Shirley) and Don; Garry’s three children: Liz, Brenda, Clarence and their families; her “adopted” daughter, Elizabeth Gardner.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Otto Kobs; second husband, Garry Holmes; son, John; grandson, Andrew; parents, Alexander and Yvonne (Janssens) Vanrobaeys.

The funeral service was held at the Legion Memorial Hall, Main Street, Melita, MB. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Evan Asselstine of Elim Chapel officiating. The interment followed at the Melita Cemetery.
