On Saturday, January 29, 2022 Mrs. Eileen Hamilton passed away at the Sunset Haven in Carnduff, at the age of 83.
Eileen was born in Carnduff on March 30, 1938. She received her education at Oakley School and Carnduff High School. After finishing Grade 12 the family moved to Bowness, AB. (Calgary) where she worked in the bank.
On November 17, 1956 she married Orval Hamilton in Calgary and moved back to a farm outside of Carnduff. To this union four children were born: Janet, Gordon, Keith, and Doug.
On June 10, 1985 her husband, Orval, passed away. Eileen was a widow for 37 years.
Mom enjoyed gardening, vacations, playing cards, knitting, watching hockey and ball. Her favorite thing to do of all was play with her grandchildren and later on her great grandchildren. Eileen will be remembered for her love of her family, her faith and helping others.
Eileen is survived by daughter, Janet (Garnet) Cowan - Blair & Tasha Cowan (Raina, Lexah & Ellie Cowan); Michelle & Jason Toms, (Janae & Braydee Toms); Justin & Jena Cowan (Reece and Jace Cowan); son, Gordon (Vicky) Hamilton - Kimberley & Al Shanowsky (Colby & Connor Shanowsky); son, Keith (Dana) Hamilton - Shayna Hamilton (Scott Cossette), Kyla Hamilton and Randy Hamilton; son, Doug (Paula) Hamilton - Ashley & Matt Silvius (Axton Silvius) and Meagan & Dylan Wright (Payton & Thea Wright); brothers, - Bill Forrest, Bob (Karen) Forrest and Pete Forrest; sisters, Ellen (Bob) Anderson and Pat (Frank) Tirpak; sister-in-law - Zelma Forrest; the Forrest nieces and nephews; niece, Mary Anne Hamilton; and all the Hamilton cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Orval Hamilton; great grandson, Benson Silvius; parents, Alice & Peter Forrest; brother Les Forrest; two nephews, Earle Forrest and David Forrest; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Forrest and Joanna Forrest; brother and sister-in-law, Harold & Anne Hamilton; and niece, Willa Hamilton
A service to celebrate Eileen’s life was held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Andrew’s United Church, Carnduff, SK., with Reverend Kathy Kyle officiating. Interment will take place at the Carnduff Cemetery at a later date.
