Although I never had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Dennis, he was always entertaining to say the least., and a tough guy to the end. One of his actions when I hardly knew who he was gave him a special place in my heart. As a teenager, my friend from Alida and myself attended a dance in Gainsborough., something to do with girls I am sure. I recall being the only 2 long-hairs in the hall. We were soon surrounded by a group of local guys determined to shoe us they did not approve. Suddenly the band stopped and a big voice comes from the stage: " one of the guys you bunch have surrounded is my cousin and whoever touches him will have to deal with me" Just like any good magician, he made all those surrounding us with ill intention to disappear in the crowd. May Dennis rest in peace. My condolences. Carl

Dennis was a legend at the rig. All you had to mention was his red hard hat liner and everyone knew who you were talking about. Kendall could dispense more wisdom (and a good measure of BS) in 15 minutes while he was filling your tank than you got the rest of the week. He never let us run out of water or stories from all the other rigs. He'll be missed, but also remembered for a long time.
