Donna Mae Theresa (Longphee) Grandy

March 4, 1932 - July 11, 2023

Our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend was called to heaven on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 to join her family and husband, Robert and her daughter, Caroline.

Donna was born in Storthoaks, Saskatchewan to Kathleen and Peter Longphee on March 4, 1932. She became a teacher and taught in Boscurvis district where she met and married Bob Grandy. They had six children: Cathy (Mike) and their children, Theresa and Micheal; Betty-Anne (Brian) and son, Jason; Judy (David) and their children, Melissa, Daniel and Derek; Rob (Valerie) and daughter, Olivia; Caroline (Wayne) and daughter, Madison; and James (Debbie) and their children, Kyla and Arron.

Donna spent her time being a great mom. She grew a huge garden with many flowers, which made her especially happy. Donna worked hard on the farm and managed to make time to go to university to upgrade her education, which was very important to her. Her family always came first. After her husband passed, she spent her last few years in Moose Mountain Lodge in Carlyle and she was comfortable.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 17, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Oxbow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Father Christopher Juchacz as Celebrant. The interment followed at the Oxbow Cemetery. The afternoon concluded with a time of lunch and fellowship in the lower level of the church.
