Eileen Turton Obituary

Mrs. Eileen Sarah (Bonnor) Turton passed away peacefully at the Sunset Haven, Carnduff, SK. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the age of 87.

Eileen was born on March 27, 1935 in the Silverton District of Carnduff to parents Alexander and Sarah (Carnduff) Bonnor. She grew up on the family farm north of Carnduff with two siblings. She attended the Silverton District School and graduated from Carnduff High School. On February 14, 1953 Eileen married Walter Alexander Turton and they set up their homestead across the road from where Eileen grew up.

She loved her flowers and her garden. Eileen also sold eggs and cream to many town customers, to residents of Sunset Haven in the 60's and 70's and eventually to Carnduff Co-op. Eileen belonged to the North Circle Ladies Group in the 50's and 60's, was a member of the St. James Anglican Church, St. Andrew's United Church, and the RCL # 216 and their ladies auxiliary where she held many roles. She enjoyed taking the children to their White Bear Lake seasonal cabin. Eileen loved to go camping, she and Walter did lots of fishing. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, curling, playing bingo, playing cards and most of all dancing. They travelled to Las Vegas, Vancouver Island, Niagara Falls and to Yuma, Arizona for a few winters.
