With love and gratitude, we announce the passing of George Alexander Simpson, who passed peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK, at the age of 87.
George was born in Carievale, SK, and raised on the family farm near Storthoaks. He became a certified heavy machinery mechanic in Winnipeg, where he met Delmira Palma. They married in 1976 and raised four children while expanding the family farm. In 1995, he married Diane, and they shared many adventures traveling across Canada, attending auctions, and collecting antiques.
George had a dry wit and quiet, easygoing nature, but he loved a big commotion around him. He was a lifelong collector—especially of toy and antique tractors—and took great pride in maintaining and displaying his collections. In his later years, he was well loved by staff and residents at Sunset Haven.
He is survived by his four children, Donald (Kristina), Maria (Kent), Gloria, and Julia (Ben); two stepchildren, Rick (Lisa) and Randy (Lauree); grandchildren; brother, Fred (Shirley); and many extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Diane; parents, Stewart and Florence; and sister, Annie (Lyle).
His signature goodbye—“We’ll talk to ya”—will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A public graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 2pm from the Carievale Cemetery, Carievale, SK. Mrs. Bev Ireland will officiate.
Donations in memory of George may be directed to the Border-Line Housing, "New Kitchen Fund" Box 250 Carnduff, SK. S0C 0S0
