Gertrude Elaine Fritzke was born Dec. 22, 1940, at Melville, SK. She was the second youngest of 13 children born to Karl and Katherine (Bismeyer) Fritzke.
Gertrude grew up at Fenwood, SK, attended school there, and graduated from high school at Melville, SK.
She attended the Fenwood Baptist Church.
Gertrude’s first employment was with SaskPower which took her to Moosomin, SK, where she lived for a number of years, prior to moving to Melita, MB, which became home to her and her son Joel.
Gertrude will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her brother Ted (Edith); sister Marie; sisters-in-law, Grace Fritzke and Lorraine Fritzke; brother-in-law Neil Cosgrove; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Joel; parents Karl and Katherine; brothers, Ernest, Leo, Reuben, Herman, Gilbert, Robert, and Louis; sisters, Tracey, Claire, and Geraldine.
A formal funeral service will not be held.
