Ida Anna (Kluge) Petzel

Ida Anna Petzel went to her heavenly home on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the age of 91 years, surrounded by people who loved her.

Ida was born the daughter of Edward and Christina Kluge on the farm in Medstead Municipality, SK. She came to Regina in the early 50’s where she resided most of her life.

Ida was active in her church Sunday School and VBS as well as Girl Guides and was the Snowy Owl leader in Brownies. She worked for Commercial Printers, Sears and Pioneer Life and retired in 1996 after several years of baby sitting for her family.

Ida is survived by three daughters, Lorna Petzel, Sharon Herbel (James), Gale Schaaf (Brian); four grandchildren, Danielle, Jared, Kendra, and Bradie Rae; five great-grandchildren with another on its way. She is also survived by one brother, Earl Kluge (Wynona); also numerous nieces, nephews (special niece Roxanne) and cousins.

Ida was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Christina Kluge; grandson, Nathan Rubbert and four brothers, George, Curt, Julius, and Ed Kluge.

A small memorial service for Ida will be held at the Galloway Health Centre.

Ida’s funeral will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Regina in the spring.

Ida’s family are forever grateful for the loving care she received from the staff at Galloway Long Term Care.
