Karol McIntyre Obituary

Mrs. Muriel Karol McIntyre was born on March 27, 1949 and passed away at the Galloway Health Centre in Oxbow on Sunday, August 7, 2022 after a short illness. She married her forever love, Neil Murray McIntyre, on July 28, 1967 and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2022. Mom worked hard all her life and together with Dad successfully built an oil/farm business. She had 4 children who she was proud of, and was just as proud of her fifteen grandkids and one great-grandchild. When she wasn’t helping loading the seeder, combining, feeding calves or running people to different fields, she loved to go to all the kids/grandkids activities and major curling events. In her spare time she loved her garden, and she grew enough to feed all her kids and grandkids. She was a master cook and canner and had the best chokecherry jam and potato salad. She’d host Sunday suppers for 30 people and would never think anything of it. She just loved having everyone over. When she wasn’t hosting her own family, she was a great neighbor and always had the coffee on. She would sit and entertain anyone who came over. When the sun went down, she loved to do puzzles and crochet and keep up with everyone on social media. Mom, like dad, loved us from hello to goodbye, kept us in line and shaped our lives for the better. Each of us have a lot of your personality and that will live on as we pass it on to our own kids. Thanks for everything and being ½ of our biggest support. Give dad a hug and kiss from all of us. We’ll miss you both.

Forever loved and remembered by her predeceased husband of 54 years, Neil; four children, Merilynn (Calvin) Lamport, Nancy (Ken) Plews, Melissa (Rob) Byers and Brad (Robin) McIntyre; bonus son, Ronald (Alinka) Spijkers; grandchildren, Layne, Kayla (Connor) and Cole (Carlee) Lamport, Dilllan (Dana), Hailey, Matthew, Mason and Mia Plews, Jared (Lindsay), Josh, Justin (Jessie), Jayda and Jill Byers, Elsie and Emma McIntyre and great-grandchild, Adrianna Czerwonka.

She is also remembered by her siblings, Bob (Marg - deceased in 2012) Seymour, Lloyd (Rika) Seymour, Barb (Ron) Rossow and Bill (Barb) Seymour and sister-in-law, Karen (Jim - deceased in 2015) Wheelans.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Mary Seymour and in-laws, Clarence and Ella McIntyre; sisters, Dorthy (Bud) Wang, Eve (Len) Yeates, Edythe Carnduff and Judy Barker; sister-in law, Marlene (Walter) Bayliss.

The funeral service was held at St. Andrew's United Church, Carnduff, SK. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Mrs. Sandy Dalziel officiating. Karol's urn was placed in the Carnduff Cemetery Columbarium following the service.
