With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of Lana Marie Bonnor (Lawson) of Carnduff, SK, on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 75.
Lana was born in Arcola on April 9th, 1947, to Melvin and Lois Lawson. Lana married McLaren Bonnor on August 8th, 1964. They lived in Arcola where their first daughter, Thea Marie, was born in 1964, soon followed by their first son, Jody Alexander, in 1965. They moved from Arcola to Gillette, Wyoming, where Mac worked rigs. They then had their second daughter, Nicole Adele, in 1970. After leaving Gillette they moved to Castor, Alberta, in 1971, where Mac continued to work rigs. In 1972 they packed up the family and moved to Brooks, Alberta. They moved home to Carnduff in 1976 where brothers Bob and Bill Betts became part of our family. The family farmed north of Carnduff. Mac passed away in 1999. Lana continued farming until moving to Redvers in 2016. She then moved to the Sunset Haven in Carnduff in 2019 until she gained her wings.
Lana is survived by four children: Thea Abdolhady (Boyd), Jody Bonnor (Sherry), Nicole Bloomer (Shane) and Bob Betts (Ann); grandchildren: Nikita Normand (Jeromy), Ty Denomme (Jade), Tristan Bonnor (Ashley), Penny Bonnor (Steven), Cheyenne Bonnor (Lane), Dusty Bonnor, Jessie Bonnor, James Bonnor, Prairie Bonnor, Mac Bonnor, Justice Bonnor, Sarah Bloomer (Danny), Kailey Betts (Jacqueline), Dylan Betts; great-grandchildren: Brookelynn Normand, Bostyn Normand, Isabella Penner, Kilian Bloomer, Night Bonnor, William Bonnor, Randy Bonnor, Meila-May McConnell, Rylin Betts, Jaxyn Betts, Mac Betts and Olivia Betts. She is also survived by her very special friend, Ralph Chicoine; sisters, Connie Hadiuk (Ken) and Shelly Kapell (Lyle); many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends that she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband, McLaren “Mac” Bonnor; parents, Melvin and Lois Lawson; son, Bill Betts; grandson, Kassidy Bloomer; granddaughter, Tess-Lynn Bonnor; grandson, Blake Betts; special friend, John Beaulieu.
The funeral service was held at the Associated Gospel Church, Carnduff, SK. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Good officiating.
