March 30, 1937 – November 18, 2020

Larry passed away peacefully at his home in Carnduff on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 with family by his side, listening to his favourite music tapes.

Larry was born on March 30, 1937 in Oxbow, SK. He moved to Carnduff in 1953 and married Lyla (White) on August 3, 1959. In March 1964, they moved to their farm where they raised their 3 children, Don, Sharlene & Shannon. Larry worked at various jobs including driving large herds of horses to Portal, ND, training jumping horses, seismograph, driving gravel & oilfield trucks – including “Precious” for Fast Trucking, rodeoing in the summer and playing hockey in the winter.

Larry and Lyla ran a mixed grain farm and cattle ranch. Larry really enjoyed feeding the cattle for many winters using a team of horses with a stoneboat and also a grain spreader. He continued to farm with Don and Josh and helped complete the 2020 harvest. He enjoyed riding his horse “Cocoa”, and dancing & participating in music jam sessions where he played the spoons and the bodhran drum.

Larry leaves to mourn and treasure their memories, the love of his life Lyla, his wife of 61 years; son Don (Melissa), Josh, Kacey (Tyler Bordun) Sadie, Ryanne (Kody Kopjar); daughter Sharlene (Cory Scott), Justin Fitzpatrick (Breanne) James, Ava, Neila; Alisha (Logan Gavelin) Aleris, Nerrik, Myra;  daughter Shannon (Ed Revet), Ellen (Jordan Fox) Brinley; Wyatt Revet (Candace) Amelia; Emma Revet; brothers: Robert North, Jack (Joan) North, Ted (Adele) Baerwald, Lynn (Louise Ann) Baerwald; sisters: Muriel Palendat & Gail Grohs; numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces and good friends.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, grandson Nolan North, sister Margaret Foster, sister-in-law Ann Marie Baerwald, brother-in-law Octave Palendat, & nephew Jim Palendat.

A celebration of Larry's life was held at the Carnduff Cemetery on Saturday, June 12, 2021 with Reverend Susan  Reed officiating.
