IN LOVING MEMORY OF

LILLIAN MARIE WEINRAUCH

March 6, 1934 – January 12, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lillian Marie Weinrauch. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK on January 12th, 2023, at the age of 88 years.

Lillian was born at Hardisty, AB on March 6th, 1934, to Alfred and Hilda Fisher.  She was the youngest, and only daughter, of 5 children.  Lil was raised on a farm, attending Beehive country school and Sedgwick Central High boarding school. Lil graduated from McTavish Business College and began her career working as a comptometer operator in Edmonton.  Lil travelled to Bermuda in 1956, and, on her return, she visited her brother Wilf in Estevan where he convinced her to stay.  She started working for B.A. Oil and, while living in Estevan, she met the love of her life, Henry Weinrauch.  They married on December 20, 1958.  Carnduff eventually became their home where they have lived for over 50 years and were blessed with 5 children and 62 years of marriage.

Lil was employed at Sunset Haven nursing home for over twenty years, retiring in 1996. Lil & Henry were dedicated to their neighbor, St. Jude’s Catholic Church, where she served in the Catholic Women’s league. She was actively involved with the Sunset Haven Auxiliary, TOPS, and the Figure Skating Club. Lil enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, reading and had a special love for horses. Lil & Henry had a busy household but always made time to go camping and take long road trips to visit family and friends.

Lil was a wonderful person. She was the rock and heart of her family.  She was caring, loving and joyful.  But not only was this true within her family, she left a lasting memory on everyone who was part of her life. She will be sadly missed and will not be forgotten.

Lil is survived by her 5 children: Raeona (Dennis) Lanski, Brenda (Todd) Tyson, Gary Weinrauch, Wendy Gilbert and Greg (Treena) Weinrauch.   Lil has a special place in the heart of her 9 grandchildren: Christie (Aris), Cory (deceased), Cara, Cole (Keziah), Kyle, Brooke, Haley, Jaiden, Justin and her 3 great-grandchildren, Milaina, AJ, and Autumn. Others left to mourn include her in-laws Clem, Jonas (Doris), Jean, Claire and Phyliss, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lil was predeceased by her husband, Henry; parents, Alfred and Hilda (Soley) Fisher; brothers Don (Neita) Fisher, Clayton (Cathy) Fisher, Wilf (Norma) Fisher and Paige (Ray) Fisher; and grandson, Cory Lanski.

The Funeral Mass for Lillian was held at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Carnduff, SK. on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Father Vince Borre as Celebrant. A lunch and time of visiting followed at the C.E. Hall (St. Andrew's United Church, Carnduff).

Interment at the Carnduff Cemetery will take place at a later date.
