It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our dearest aunt, friend, grandma, and sister, Lori Greefkes. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the Regina General Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit.
Lori was born on May 25, 1961 in Carnduff, SK. to Jake and Kay (Baglole) Unrau. She was raised on the family farm with her siblings Jim, Bill, Rob and Lynn.
Lori and Paul Greefkes were married on May 11, 2001 and spent twenty-three loving years together.
Lori lived life to the fullest and had a truly caring nature and infectious smile. She loved to laugh with family and her many friends over countless cups of coffee.
Lori worked as a cook at the Avonmore Hotel for many years and later at the Co-op grocery store. Together, Paul and Lori managed the North American Lumber Yard, which they enjoyed a lot until retirement. After retirement, they moved to the Carievale Villa then to Deloraine, Manitoba to be with Lori's brother Jim.
When Lori's aunt Dorothy became ill, Lori and Paul moved to Moose Jaw to become her caregivers.
Paul and Lori were very happy in Moose Jaw. They had wonderful friends, enjoyed shopping, and hosted many coffee gatherings.
When Paul passed away in November of 2024, Lori moved back home to Carnduff where she was happy to have family and friends close by.
Lori was predeceased by her husband Paul; parents Kay and Jake Unrau; and brother Jim.
Lori's true joys were the children in her life, Mark (Candace), Marieke, Amanda (Mike), Melissa (Ryan) and many grandchildren.
The gathering to celebrate both Paul and Lori’s lives will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Carnduff. All are welcome to attend.
Donations in memory of Paul and Lori can be made to the Carnduff Legion.
