Marilyn was born in Virden, MB on September 5, 1947. She attended Blair School District during her early years and finished her high school years in Melita, MB. She married Harvey on November 27, 1965, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this past fall. Pierson was their home for over 50 years, where they owned a business, raised a family and were involved in many community activities and sports. Marilyn worked as an Education Assistant at Pierson School for 29 years. Working with students was her passion and she will always be fondly remembered as Mrs. J. Marilyn worked with the 4-H Pierson Pathfinders as a leader for many years.
Marilyn’s family was always the center of her life; she was happiest surrounded by all her family and friends, usually one of the loudest and the last to leave the party. Many laughs and stories were shared over the campfire late into the night with summers spent at Oak Lake Beach. She always enjoyed sharing family recipes and gardening tips with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
A public graveside service for Marilyn was held at the Pierson Cemetery, Pierson, MB. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Following the service a time of fellowship and refreshments was held at the Pierson Community Hall.
Donations may be given to the Pierson Community Rink or to the Pierson Cemetery Fund. The address for both is Box 100 Pierson, MB. R0M 1S0
