I loved my visits with Maxine when I worked at the lodge. My break would often occur at the same time Maxine would arrive in the morning to the front room. I’d give her my pen and paper and we’d have wonderful conversations.; writing back and forth, asking questions of one another. She always asked about my family. I looked forward to those little visits. She was truly an amazing woman. My condolences to you all.

We share your sadness at the loss of Maxine. As we got to know her over the years, she became pretty special to us. And due to her deafness and Amanda’s ability to sign, it is a little miracle that Peter and Amanda had their baby boy on the same day as Maxine’s passing. The bond continues to grow. I could not wait to get home and share my news and some photos with Maxine as she shared my joys with Amanda’s wedding and pregnancy. Feels like we have lost a dear friend too. So we are thinking of you folks and send our love and condolences.
