Myrtle "Grace" Ulmer

Myrtle Grace Ulmer (1931 – 2023)

Grace passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Sunset Haven in Carnduff, Saskatchewan at the age of 92 years old.

Grace was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Arthur Ulmer; their son, Perry Ulmer; her parents, Martin and Katherine Ulmer; her siblings, Emma (Jacob) Hollinger, Rose (Frank) Piller, John (Evelyn) Ulmer, Edward (Edna) Ulmer, Verner (Elaine) Ulmer, Violet (Ernest) Schmidt, Oswald (Agnes) Ulmer,  Mardel Schmidt, her parents-in-law Ludwig and Marie Ulmer; and her brother-in-law Walter (Hilda) Ulmer.

Grace is survived by her children, Marian (James) Stark, their daughter, Heather (Joey) Scherger; Cathy (Gene) Smith, their sons, Daniel Smith and Andrew Smith; Cindy (Daniel) Timlen, their children Joshua Timlen and Courtney Timlen; her sister Gladys (Keith) James; her brother-in-law Elroy Schmidt and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Grace was born, raised and got married in Neudorf, Saskatchewan. From Neudorf, Grace and Art as well as their first daughter Marian moved to D’Arcy, Saskatchewan where they had their son Perry and daughters Cathy and Cindy. From D’Arcy they moved to Carnduff, Saskatchewan but decided to try out Pierson, Manitoba before putting down their roots back in Carnduff. Grace was a very hardworking woman, she enjoyed baking, gardening and crocheting. Grace was very proud to be the custodian at the Carnduff Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for many years as well as other jobs in Carnduff. Grace will be missed by her family and friends.

A private family graveside service was held at the Carnduff Cemetery.
