Pam Benton

Doreen Pamela (“Pam”) Benton passed away peacefully at the Virden Health Centre with family by her side, on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the age of 86.

Pam is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James Benton Sr., as well as sons Michael (Suzanne) of Hevingham England, James (Denise) of Melita and Andrew (Kristal) of Winnipeg.

Pam is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Emily (David), Rachel (Kevin), Edward (Jennifer), Travis (Teyana), Mikaela, Nicholas (Meta), Emma (Jake) and Matthew (Melissa). She was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Agnes, Oscar, Ava, Ted and Matilda.

James and Pam worked side by side all throughout their married life. They along with two of their sons moved to Canada in the winter of 1983, where they continued to farm and work together.

Pam was passionate about working hard and getting things done but her greatest passion and pure joy was her family.  There was nothing that made her happier than to have a visit or a chat with family.  She was also known to have chats with many people around the community and could always be counted on doing anything for anybody.  She was very selfless and a kind soul who left an imprint on those who knew her. She will be sadly missed by all.

At Pam’s request, she will be going “home” to England to be laid to rest where she spent many, many happy hours working and loving life. A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, if friends wish to do so, a donation in honor of Pam may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
