Welcome to the memorial page for

Reinhold Ewald Tetzlaff

October 29, 1940 ~ September 6, 2020 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Mr. Reinhold Ewald Tetzlaff of Alameda, was born on October 29, 1940 in a farm-home south of Frobisher, SK., the fifth child to Ewald and Adina Tetzlaff.

At the age of four, his family moved to their farm near Alameda, this was where he grew up.  After educating at the University of Saskatchewan and working in various roles, he returned to purchase the family farm and begin his own farming career.

In 1968, while attending a wedding in Montana, Reinhold met the love of his life Marjorie Thompson.  The following year on October 18, 1969 they were married. Their family grew with the birth of two sons, Kevin in 1973 and Ryan in 1976.

He took great pride in his farming career, which spanned 48 years. He was a farmer who was eager to adapt to the changes in agriculture practices, equipment and techniques; all the while balancing a dedication to properly maintaining the integrity of the land.

During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time restoring antique farm equipment, camping, travelling and made many happy memories with his family, as it grew with the addition of grandchildren. Reinhold treasured Brydon, Macy and Zander and loved taking them for rides on all his tractors. It wouldn’t be uncommon to see a parade breakout in the yard when the kids came to visit.

His Christian faith was very important and highly evident throughout all aspects of his life.  He was a dedicated life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church in Frobisher.

Reinhold was blessed to have generally good health until early 2019, when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  On Sunday, September 6, 2020, after bravely fighting this disease with strength and grace, he was called to be with the Lord in eternal rest.

Reinhold is survived by his wife, Marjorie;  son, Kevin (Paula) and their children Brydon and Macy; son, Ryan (Kathy) and his son Zander; brother, Elmar (Carol) Tetzlaff; sister, Walda Hammermeister; brothers-in-law, Morris (Betty-Jean) Thompson, Morley (Donna) Thompson, Floyd (Annette) Thompson, and Alfred Thompson;  sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bartolf and Dorothy Pattemore; also numerous nieces and nephews.
