So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He is well remembered to all students from PCI. A kind, patient and giving teacher as well as a person who was genuinely interested in you as a person. Many of my teacher memories from Highschool involve Mr Neuman, he never gave up on those of us who had difficulty with Math or Science!! The best advice I remember him giving to me (after struggling through Chem 200) was, “Myra, maybe you shouldn’t take Chem 300!” Thank you for that! Rest easy Mr Neuman and my sincere condolences to Joan and family.

So very sad to hear of the passing of this wonderful man. I was reading Murray's (McRae) condolence and admit that along with Murray, I too was one of those rowdy teenagers that Bob had to deal with back in the early 80's. So many fond memories. I recall a time when one of my best buddies Wiley brought to Science class a tape recorder so he could capture all of Mr. Neuman's lecture. Wiley sat up at the very front and placed the recorder on the shelf. Bob kinda smiled, but went on teaching. Well this was just too much for my wing man Jeff and I, We started hooting, and making wild animal noises to the point that Bob asked Wiley to put it away. Jeff and I got in a little trouble for that, and Mr. Neuman did his best to admonish us after class, but struggled to keep a straight face. Though the class was science, Math, etc, of which he taught us all very well, I learned as much about tolerance, patience, and good humor from this learned educator. Thank you Mr. Neuman.
Joan and family please accept the Haight boys heart felt sympathies for your heavy loss.

So sorry for your loss Joan & family. Mr. Neumann was an amazing teacher, always willing to go the extra mile to help us understand what we were learning. I can still picture him kneeling beside a desk to help someone struggling with a math problem. R.I.P Mr. Neumann.

Joan and family. I was so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. It was always a pleasure to have a visit with him during the many gatherings at Pat and Harry's home in Brandon. The day he and Charlie replaced my living room window had to have been the coldest damn day that year. The two of them working together was really a comedy. I am sure the many memories that will be shared in the days and weeks to come will bring a smile to your faces. He was truly a great man who touched so very many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sharon

So incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Neumann.
I know I’m not saying anything new when I say that he was always a favourite teacher of mine. Whether it was math or chemistry, I always appreciated his encouragement, patience and dedication. And, of course, his keen wit and humour.
But as special as he was as an educator, it pales in comparison to how special he was as a person. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a more genuine and caring human being. It’s been said that a man’s success is determined by the quality of his relationships with others. If that’s true, then Bob Neumann was a success beyond measure.
Deepest sympathies to Joan, kids and all of their families.

Cherish all the your memories and the heartfelt stories you will hear in the coming days, about him. Mr. Neumann was one of the "Best" teachers there was and had the patients of Jobe. . Chemistry seemed to be a struggle for me but he never gave up until I finally caught on to it. Along with this, he had the ability to somehow make class fun.. God Bless! Class of'74.

I too was saddened when I heard about Bob's passing. He was one of the more prominent teachers I had growing up and always held a place in my heart as a great teacher and friend. I remember the good times and sometimes 'crazy times' being in Bob's class as he tried to teach a group of us wild kids math or chemistry. We could certainly be a handful but whatever we dished out in class Bob could handle it and he often got the best of us in the end! You always felt he was happy to see you show up in his class - he liked being around his students.. Although I graduated from Pierson almost 40 years ago, both Bob and Joan continued to be part of my life as good friends. When I traveled home to visit my parents I would often drive into town for a visit with Bob and Joan for a coffee and a good visit to catch up on things. I always looked forward to the Christmas card I would receive with a nice update on Bob, Joan and their family. I never tired of Bob's humour & wit as well as his genuine interest in me and my life - that never faded over the years. Bob was a great teacher, a good friend and someone who made my life and many others better for him being in it. I will hold dear my memories of Bob as he was one of the good ones.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of one of my all time favorite teachers. Mr. Neumann was an amazing educator who truly loved his students and was committed to helping each and every one. Especially brilliant in Math Mr.Neumann was instrumental in helping me understand a number of high school Math concepts. His patience, understanding and sense of humour endeared him to countless students who had the pleasure of being in his class. . Building and sustaining relationships with his students and later as adults was a priority to Mr.Neumann. This wonderful teacher's impact on the lives of countless students will never be forgotten.
