On Growing Old – How Faith Fills Me

As years go by and the hand grows weak,

My heart and mind, Thy wisdom seek.

As I walk in Nature’s sheer delight,

There find, Thy presence, day and night.

And with dimming eyes, I yet behold,

The evening sky, in wondrous shades of blue and gold.

Then to my knees, in faith, fall at Thy feet.

And pray, ‘Take me’, my life, it is complete.

Shirley Jean Abbey
