Sonja Ann Peterson

Sonja Peterson passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital (Long Term Care), Estevan on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the age of 88.

Sonja is survived by her husband, Roy Wardrope; daughter, Sylvia (Reed) Gibson, granddaughter Quinn (Wes) Hildebrand great-grandchildren, Rhyla, Braylee and Gleason, grandson Shane (Paige) Gibson; daughter, Shelley (Dale) Faber, grandson Devin (Danine) great-granddaughters, Aliya and Macie, and grandson Jeff (Jaime) great-grandchildren, Nash and Peyton; daughter, Sherlynne (Ken) Best, granddaughter Shannon (Derek) Huenison great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas (Madison) (their son, Kayce), Morgan, and grandson Blaine (Brittany) Best, great-granddaughters, Mykayla and Brooklyn. 

Sonja is also survived by her brother-in-law, Russell D. (Linda) Wardrope; sisters-in-law, Diane Morrow and Roberta (Wayne) Taylor.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bertil and Grace (Doherty) Peterson.

A public funeral service and lunch for Sonja was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Oxbow, SK. on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Mrs. Sandy Dalziel officiating. Interment at the Oxbow Cemetery will take place at a later date.
