So sorry to hear about Aunt Winnie. She always presented as a strong matriarch that could work her way through all struggles. Always hard to say farewell, but you have many years of memories of knowing how much she cared for family and community. I can remember many happy times spent at the Drier house with Aunt Winnie always quietly part of the memories -- from haircuts, to cardboard forts in the basement, to working on the farm, to oatcakes with cheese on Christmas Eve, to watching the pigs and the amazing Simmental cross cattle, shipping hay home from Ontario with Sandy, weddings, Sunday suppers, New Year's at the hall, and watching Winnie dance the schottische - all good times!! It is difficult enough to lose someone you love but it must be especially hard at this time of COVID when being with them in their final days are difficult and the support of others to assist with the grieving process cannot be the same as usual.
