She attended school in Cantal going there with horse and buggy in the summer and sleigh in the winter. She attended school in Cantal until Grade 8, then she worked in Storthoaks, Manor and Bellegarde as a housekeeper, then worked in Regina at the Hotel Saskatchewan as a chamber-maid.

They ran a mixed farming operation near Alida from 1948 until 1981 when they sold the farm and moved to Okanagan Falls, BC. They purchased the La Villa Motel and Campground and operated it until 1988.

In 1988 they retired and moved to Kenosee Lake where they built a lovely log house. Yvonne had a green thumb and always had beautiful flowers decorating inside and outside of her house. Yvonne's life centered around their children and grandchildren. The family gatherings at the lake were the highlight of her life.

Maurice and Yvonne did a lot of travelling during their 73 years of marriage seeing almost all of Canada, many parts of the United States and Mexico. They also travelled to Cuba, The Dominican and Europe. In their later years, their winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed many adventures from January until spring.

Yvonne was an active member of the CWL all through her life. She was always active and participated in the communities where she resided.

In 2014, she was moved into the Moose Mountain Lodge due the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
