It’s no exaggeration to say that Bunty was my favourite uncle, and I had quite a few. Having a big farm and a waterskiing boat made him the coolest uncle by far and I was blessed to be able to spend many summer holidays with Bunty and Audrey and cousins Louella, Charlotte, Christine, Rick and Brent. I spent a couple of summers in the 1970s driving tractors, chasing cows and shelling peas as a farm hand (perhaps more hindrance than assistance) along with Barry Gibbs. Those times had a big positive effect on my growing up. While it’s hard to believe that such a lively and influential personality will no longer be with us, it will be impossible to forget all the good times we had, with Bunty and Audrey at the centre of such an active family. My mother, Doreen, brother Greg and I send our love and condolences to Audrey especially, and to Charlotte, Christine and Brent and their families. It’s good to know that they have plenty of mutual support at this sad time. I regret being unable to be with you at Bunty’s memorial service, but we’ll be thinking of you always.

Very sad when I heard about Bunty. He was a very special person in my life. I have so many great memories. The biggest thing I remember is that he was always there for me. No matter what. Even when I drove the cultivator over a set of harrows. I will never forget that the unconditional support. My heart goes out to Audrey, Charlotte, Christine and Brent and families. So sad!
